Tree of Life – In History

The Axis Mundi: the World Tree

The cosmic axis that connects Heaven and Earth, the center of which I am.

The World Tree, comprising branches, trunk and roots, unites the three planes of existence Earth existence: sky, organic life, and underground, uniting Above and Below.
Mythologies across the world embrace the World Tree as the meditational center of enlightenment.

The Kabbalah symbolizes the Tree of Life as a map of Creation, and the divinity of the human soul and the spiritual path to God. And, a graphical representation of how the universe came into being.

Consciousness is the fruit of the physical world, through which the original divine energy flows and knows itself as a finite enemy. As in Me. And You. Through the spiritual path, we seek to know ourselves and the Universe as an expression of the Divine.

We, like the trees, are nourished from below and above–not so much seeking to escape ‘the surly bonds of Earth’ and go find heaven somewhere–as to take nourishment and energy from the air and sun–the invisible things above. The things that nourish our souls.
